Coming up on the July exam and trying to finalize my study schedule. I went through the NCBE's published data on MBE question distribution and wanted to share what I found since I don't see it discussed enough.
The 200-question MBE breaks down as follows (approximately): Civil Procedure — 27, Constitutional Law — 27, Contracts — 27, Criminal Law & Procedure — 27, Evidence — 27, Real Property — 27, Torts — 27, plus a pretest section of 25 unscored questions.
Given that, I'm weighting my time roughly equally across subjects but going heavier on Contracts and Evidence because (a) they have the most overlap with the MEE essays and (b) the rule distinctions are the most granular and easiest to confuse under pressure.
Con Law I'm treating as partially self-reinforcing with Crim Pro — the incorporation doctrine, Fourth Amendment standards, etc. share a lot of common reasoning.
What subjects are others struggling most with? And has anyone found a significant difference between Barbri vs. Themis vs. Adaptibar for MBE practice questions?
